As Katie Lin was advised by the doctor in October 2016 that she needed to take a rest for at least half a year, she will not be able to carry out any duties as the Chairperson of the Hong Kong Chapter during this period. Jimmy Ho, who is the Vice Chairperson, has taken up the position of Chairperson of the Hong Kong Chapter with effect from November 2016.

Since the official establishment of the Hong Kong Chapter in May 2014, we held our first Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. In this AGM, a new board which consists of a president, a vice president, and a treasurer of the Hong Kong Chapter was elected.

Proposed by Harold Ho and seconded by Sammy Ho, Katie Lin was unanimously re-elected as the President of the Hong Kong Chapter. Proposed by William Lau and seconded by Harold Ho, Jimmy Ho was newly elected as the Vice President. Eric Mok was unanimously re-elected as the Treasurer. The new board became effective on 5th May 2016.

The new board and committee members for the period May 2016 to May 2018 are summarized as follows:

The new board is grateful that Katie’s personal assistants, Ms Dora Lau and Ms Parina Chan, volunteered to help the committee organize many of our past activities.

We hope that other SMU alumni currently residing in Hong Kong will join the Hong Kong Chapter as a member to connect other alumni in the Hong Kong area. Better still, join the committee as a committee member to further develop the Hong Kong Chapter. Your participation will be greatly appreciated.
