The Hong Kong Chapter was invited to attend a “Welcome Luncheon” with the new students of BNUZ and their parents on Wednesday, 9th September. These students had enrolled in the finance program jointly developed by SMU and BNUZ. Three staff members of St. Mary’s University, Dr. David Wicks, Ms Lois Larson and Mr. Garett J. White, went to Zhuhai from Halifax to participate in this event. Two committee members representing the Hong Kong Chapter also participated in this event.
As the first part of the luncheon gathering, a video recording was projected to a large screen. In this video, the Premier of Nova Scotia, Mr. Stephen McNeil, gave a speech of encouragement to the opening ceremony of the new academic year followed by a speech made by our new President of SMU – Dr. Robert Summerby-Murray.
